iKern allows to create an infinite variety of possible letterfittings but only one version of the font can be created in the end. At least for the moment. Developments I’m already working on are just related to this limit. First of all I showed how typographical choices are mostly made during the post-processing phase. I’m working on a standalone post-processor to be used by type designers to produce their fonts at home. When the system will be tested and optimized I will transfer this possibility directly inside the publishing systems via plugins to give the typographer an unprecedented control on text.
