Jos Buivenga lives in Arnhem (the Netherlands) and works 4 days a week as art director at an advertising agency. He’s also (especially?) a type designer and runs the exljbris Font Foundry.
I contacted him in may 2008 when I finally decided iKern was good enough to face good fonts. During the last six months I had rewrote many things and added more than 20% of new code. All the bugs seemed disappeared (but you know bugs never disappear, they just sleep and wait!) and I felt just ready. I sent him an iKerned version of his Anivers and he liked it. We decided to collaborate on the complete family he was currently expanding. Jos told the story on Anivers – birth of a typeface, an article for ILoveTypography.
